Joseph A. Adashek, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Adashek is rated among the top 1% in the nation, in the field of Perinatology, by US News and World Report. Dr. Adashek is an award-winning and widely published physician. He has also received numerous awards as an outstanding and contributing member of his community.

Dr. Adashek received his undergraduate degree at UCLA and holds a Doctor of Medicine from Penn State. He performed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University and was awarded a Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at UC Irvine. He has served in many academic leadership positions and chaired numerous hospital committees within his field and currently is the Director of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Summerlin Medical Center and Valley Hospital. Dr. Adashek is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is sub-specialty board certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine. He also is Chairman of Maternal/Child Health at Southern Hills Hospital. He co-owns Desert Perinatal Associates in Las Vegas, NV and integrated a pregnancy spa and wellness center into his practice for continuity of care for his patients.

Dr. Adashek is married and has one daughter. He loves soccer, racquetball, and piloting.

 

Paul T. Wilkes, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Wilkes received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Pepperdine University. He earned his Doctor of Medicine and performed post-graduate work in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where he received numerous honors and awards for academics and research. Dr. Wilkes has served as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Nevada and as an Instructor/Fellow in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. In addition to being widely published in respected medical journals and lecturing nationally on perinatal topics, he is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and board certified with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Wilkes is also board certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Dedicated to serving his community, Dr. Wilkes serves on the Board of Directors for 3 local foundations. The Patrick Kelly Youth Foundation strives to help under-privileged children achieve their educational goals by awarding bicycles and helmets to young students, as well as college scholarships for deserving high school seniors. The Jump for Joy Foundation is dedicated to fighting childhood obesity and encouraging active, healthy lifestyles by sponsoring free fitness camps for local youth. Sight for Life was established in 2001 to improve the sight of Nevadans with treatable vision loss who would otherwise not receive care due to a lack of insurance or other pay source. As a true philanthropist, Dr. Wilkes also donates his time and medical care to the women of Safe Nest; a local domestic violence shelter.

The father of three children, Dr. Wilkes loves soccer, cross fit training, traveling, and he lives by his motto of “what would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?”

 

Van Reid Bohman, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Bohman is an award-winning clinician and researcher whose work earned him a significant grant from Merck Sharpe and Dohme pharmaceuticals. A native of Nevada, Dr. Bohman is a graduate of the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed his residency and internship at Baylor College of Medicine. He subsequently received his fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Bohman has presented and published a number of papers including those focusing on substance abuse in the pregnant patient and managing the pregnant patient with metabolic disorders. Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as Maternal Fetal Medicine, he is licensed to practice in Nevada, Texas, and Kansas. He was featured in a Discovery Channel special about the care and delivery of sextuplets in Kansas.

Dr. Bohman is the Medical Director of Perinatology Services at Via Christi Regional Medical Center. He is the married father of seven children and believes patients experiencing a high-risk pregnancy deserve both competence as well as compassion. Dr. Bohman enjoys keeping fit, gardening, and volunteers as a scoutmaster.

Donald Roberts, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Roberts received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1983 from Weber State University. He went on to complete his Medical Degree from the University of Nevada, in 1989, where he was awarded a grand prize in the “Student Research Competition”. Dr. Roberts completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1993. He concluded his formal education by completing his Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal-Medicine at the University of California San Diego in 1997. He is board certified in Fetal and Maternal Medicine as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology and has fourteen years of practice experience. Dr. Roberts has received many awards, has held numerous academic appointments, and is actively involved in research in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

 

Sean Keeler, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Keeler received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Scranton. Following graduation, he was commissioned an officer in the United States Navy and awarded a full scholarship through the Federal Health Professions Scholarship Program to attend MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Keeler completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA. He was awarded the Pennsylvania State University, Hershey Medical Center Award for Humanism and Excellence in Teaching. He also was recognized by his peers, receiving two teacher of the year awards. He then was awarded a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at New York University, where he trained under and was mentored by world renowned ultrasonologist, Ilan Timor-Trisch, M.D. Dr. Keeler consistently received teacher of the year awards throughout his three year fellowship program. Dr. Keeler is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Following fellowship training, Dr. Keeler served four years on active duty as a Lieutenant Commander at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth as the Division Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. During this time, he was an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences’ F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine. Dr. Keeler was awarded the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics & Gynecology National Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching. After his active duty commitment was complete, Dr. Keeler was awarded the prestigious Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for distinguishing himself with meritorious service to our country.

Dr. Keeler has a strong interest in clinical research in preterm labor and cervical insufficiency. He has authored seventeen original manuscripts and two book chapters, including multiple Editor’s Choice Awards in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Dr. Keeler is married and is the proud father of three beautiful daughters. He brings extra compassion to his practice of Maternal-Fetal Medicine as two of his wife’s pregnancies were extremely high risk. Dr. Keeler supports the March of Dimes and The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia (invited guest speaker 2015 NJ walk). In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys golfing, exercise and a good meal with friends. Dr. Keeler moved from New Jersey with his family and is excited to join the Desert Perinatal team.
